India's electric mobility shift is no longer emerging — it is accelerating at scale. With over 2.1 million EV registrations in FY 2023–24 and projections of 80% EV penetration in two- and three-wheelers by 2030, the opportunity is enormous. But realising it requires more than vehicles — it requires an ecosystem.

India's electric mobility shift is no longer emerging — it is accelerating at scale. In FY 2023–24 alone, the country recorded over 2.1 million electric vehicle registrations (MoRTH), reflecting a decisive move away from conventional fuel-based transport. With projections indicating that EVs could account for up to 30% of private cars and 80% of two- and three-wheelers by 2030 (NITI Aayog), India is firmly on the path to becoming one of the world's largest EV markets.

At Satviga Solutions Pvt. Ltd., we see this transformation not just as a market shift, but as a foundational opportunity to build the ecosystem that will power India's electric future — especially in emerging regions like Odisha.

Why the EV Ecosystem Matters

The EV revolution is much more than replacing petrol and diesel vehicles with electric ones. It is about building a complete ecosystem that benefits every stakeholder — from manufacturers and dealers to service technicians, charging infrastructure providers, financiers, and ultimately, every citizen.

A strong EV ecosystem delivers multiple compounding benefits:

  • Lower Cost of Ownership: EVs can reduce running costs by 40–60% compared to ICE vehicles in India (ICCT). Fewer moving parts mean fewer service visits and lower maintenance bills.
  • Reduced Carbon Footprint: EVs can reduce lifecycle emissions by up to 50% in India's current energy mix, with further improvements as renewable energy expands (IEA).
  • Energy Security: India imports nearly 85% of its crude oil requirements (Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas). EV adoption directly reduces this dependency.
  • Employment Generation: India's EV transition could generate over 10 million direct and indirect jobs by 2030 (Rocky Mountain Institute).
  • Technological Advancement: EVs are accelerating innovation in batteries, electronics, software, renewable integration, and smart mobility systems.

The transition is not merely an automotive change — it is an economic, environmental, and social transformation.

A Critical Challenge: The Unorganised EV Market

While the EV sector is growing rapidly, one of the most serious challenges is the unregulated distribution of low-speed electric scooters. Across India, more than 500 traders and small importers are bringing in low-speed EV scooters through unstructured channels, often with minimal quality checks, no authorised dealership network, no standardised warranty or service commitments, and extremely low pricing driven by cost-cutting.

While this may appear to increase short-term affordability, it is creating long-term damage to customer trust and the ecosystem as a whole.

This unorganised flow of products is leading to several serious consequences:

  • No After-Sales Support: Customers are left without service centres, spare parts, or technical assistance.
  • Safety Risks: Lack of compliance increases the risk of battery failures, electrical faults, and accidents.
  • Loss of Trust in EVs: When customers face breakdowns without support, it negatively impacts the perception of the entire industry.
  • Market Distortion: Artificially low pricing disrupts fair competition and weakens organised players who invest in service infrastructure and compliance.
  • Financial Loss for Buyers: Many customers cannot repair or maintain their vehicles, turning their purchase into a sunk cost.

A vehicle without service support is not a sustainable product — it is a liability. For the EV revolution to succeed, India must move from a product-selling market to a service-driven ecosystem.

Odisha: A Rising EV Destination

Odisha is uniquely positioned to become one of India's leading EV markets. With rapid urbanisation, expanding highways, increasing awareness, and strong government support, the state offers tremendous opportunities for sustainable transportation. The Odisha EV Policy 2021 targets 20% EV penetration in new vehicle registrations by 2025, supported by incentives for both buyers and infrastructure developers.

Cities like Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur, and Berhampur are already witnessing growing adoption of electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers — particularly in delivery services, commuting, and small business operations. For households and businesses, electric mobility offers a practical advantage: transport costs that often account for 30–40% of urban household mobility expenses (NITI Aayog) can be substantially reduced.

Satviga's Mission: Building the EV Ecosystem in Odisha

At Satviga Solutions Pvt. Ltd., we believe that selling an EV is only the beginning. Sustainable mobility requires a robust ecosystem that customers can trust. Our vision extends far beyond vehicle sales.

Satviga is committed to:

  • Establishing partnerships with leading EV manufacturers offering reliable and technologically advanced products.
  • Creating a strong sales network that reaches every district of Odisha.
  • Developing professional service centres capable of delivering dependable after-sales support.
  • Building a trained workforce through skill development programmes for EV technicians and service engineers.
  • Promoting customer awareness about the economic and environmental benefits of electric mobility.
  • Supporting entrepreneurs who wish to establish dealerships, service centres, charging stations, and other EV-related businesses.

India currently has over 12,000 public charging stations (Bureau of Energy Efficiency & Ministry of Power, 2024), and Odisha is steadily expanding its share of this infrastructure. Our objective is to ensure that every EV owner in Odisha experiences confidence, convenience, and reliable service throughout the ownership journey.

Competition Drives Innovation

Some perceive competition as a threat. We see it differently. Healthy competition encourages innovation, improves product quality, enhances customer service, and lowers costs. With over 100 EV startups and OEMs operating in India (SIAM & industry reports), the sector is rapidly evolving into a dynamic innovation ecosystem.

There is ample opportunity for every responsible organisation to contribute. The success of one company should inspire many others to innovate and serve society better. The true winner is not a single business — it is the people of India.

A Cleaner India for Future Generations

Every electric vehicle replacing a conventional fuel vehicle contributes to cleaner air in our cities (transport accounts for nearly 14% of India's CO₂ emissions — MoEFCC), lower carbon emissions, reduced noise pollution, improved public health, greater energy independence, and a more sustainable future for our children. This is not simply a business opportunity; it is a national responsibility.

Our Commitment

Satviga Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is committed to supporting the Government of India's vision of sustainable mobility by creating an integrated EV ecosystem that connects manufacturers, dealers, service partners, financial institutions, charging infrastructure providers, and customers.

India's EV market is projected to grow at a CAGR of over 49% between 2022 and 2030 (BloombergNEF), making it one of the fastest-growing mobility sectors globally. Our goal is to make electric mobility accessible, affordable, reliable, and service-oriented for every household in Odisha.

Together, we can build a greener economy, generate employment, reduce pollution, and accelerate India's journey towards becoming a global leader in electric mobility.

Join the Revolution

The EV revolution belongs to everyone. Whether you are a customer, entrepreneur, investor, technician, dealer, fleet operator, or policymaker — your contribution matters. At Satviga, we welcome collaboration because we firmly believe: the more people who join this revolution, the greater the benefits for society, the environment, and our nation.

Together, let us drive towards a cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable India.
